Why laminate or the benefits of lamination

  • Lamination protects pictures or printed material from fingerprints, smudges and abrasions.
  • It also protects items which have to endure a lot of handling (printed items on Fairs, etc.).
  • Lamination adds value to the printed material: it significantly enhances colour and contrast. It can even change completely the finish of the print or picture by over-laminating it with a surface of a different texture: gloss, matt, satin, textured etc.
  • Lamination helps to preserve colours longer, indoors and outdoors: by slowing down the colour fading process, it can maintain materials in a like-new condition for several years.
  • Lamination allows medium to long term preservation under difficult climate conditions when the item is exposed to outdoor conditions (cold temperature, rain,etc.). If properly laminated, less expensive materials can also be used outdoors.
  • Lamination increases strength and rigidity of the printed material.
